After getting embarrassed by the Jets, they are still arguably the best team in the league, and this week they get to take their frustrations out on the Lions.

As poorly as Philly has played of late, The Linc is a tough place for visiting teams, but Arizona can and should lock up their division with a win against the struggling Eagles.

Baltimore Wins

The Packers played well in the first half, but absolutely fell apart in the second half, and they can’t afford to do that against a Carolina team that has been better this season than the Saints have been.

Panthers Win

After the display that New Orleans put on, and the fact that the Bucs let the Lions jump out to a early 17 point lead, the Saints can really take control of their future with a win in the Bay.

I always like to pick at least one underdog per week, just to take a chance, but the Chargers are in too much disarray for me to pick them against a really strong Falcons team. I suspect Turner will have a better game than Tomlinson will this week…

Falcons Win

The Patriots have won 6 of the last 7 against the Steelers, and with their offense playing as well as it has been, they should make it 7 of 8, but it won’t be easy.

New England Wins

With the NFC North up for grabs, I suspect home field advantage will come into play in this one. Add the crowd to the resurgence of the Vikings defense, this one should be close, but I suspect the Vikings to come out on top.

Minnesota Wins

After a tough game against the Chargers, Pittsburgh gets to make a statement against Cincy at home, and I really like the chances of them actually coming out and making a real statement!

Pitt Wins

Sage Rosenfels makes too many mistakes for him to ever be considered as a starter, and after the past few weeks, his role as a backup could be in jeopardy.

Cleveland Wins

At 7-3, Tampa would be leading (or tied for first) in 5 of the other 7 divisions. While that sinks in, the Bucs will step up to 8-3.

Bucs Win

After a HOT start, the Bills have crashed… and hard! But this week they have a perfect opportunity to keep their hat in the ring for a shot at the post season.

The Bears have to win in order to keep pace with the Vikes and Packers, and luckily for them they have the the easiest game of the 3 this week.

Chicago Wins

Despite the injuries, Denver managed to beat the Falcons in Atlanta (they were undefeated in Atlanta until Sunday), so in front of a home crowd, against the Raiders, I expect some fireworks from the Broncos offense.

I like both of these teams, but I think that the Giants are really hard to beat lately, and as good as the Cardinals are, I think that they will save their upset for the playoffs.

New York Wins

Normally I would expect this to be a much closer game, but with the Colts surging, and the Chargers barely hanging on, this one could get ugly for Bolts fans.

Indy Wins

I go back and forth on this game… On one hand, New England held a good Buffalo team to less than 200 yards of total offense, but then again, the Jets put up 47 points, albeit against a pitiful Rams team that didn’t show any sparks at all. In all honesty, I think the Patriots are a better team, even without Brady.

I like the heart of Minnesota in an upset in Tampa, especially after last weeks game.

Miami could vault themselves into the playoff hunt with a win here.

Dolphins Win

After a pathetic performance (7 of 27 passing) by Jake Delhomme last week, he gets to redeem himself in front of a home crowd against the lowly Lions.

Panthers Win

Green Bay is better than they have played lately, and at home, against a division rival, I expect Rodgers to show why Thompson and McCarthy were willing to take him over ‘what’s-his-name.’

Green Bay Wins

After the drubbing the Rams took last week, this game could be a fight for respect… from both teams. If this is the only game on in your area, I feel sorry for you because it will probably be a snooze-fest.

San Francisco Wins

I want to pick Jacksonville in this one, and at the beginning of the season, I probably would have chosen Jacksonville to win this game, but they are seriously struggling, and that isn’t a good place to be against a really tough Titans team that can beat you on defense, or with their running game, or with their newly found passing attack.

Tennessee Wins

If this were in Dallas, I might pick the ‘Boys, but these two teams are pretty evenly matched, and in DC, I expect the home crowd to play the part of the 12th man.

Washington Wins

I don’t think that I have to remind anyone that I’m not that sold on Denver as whole, but Cleveland hasn’t really been all that great this year either. I think while they are playing in hostile territory, the Broncos will come out on top.

Denver Wins

I think that Chicago should start Grossman, and let Orton have a week off in order to heal, just so that he is healthy down the stretch, and into the playoffs if they make it. Either way, I don’t think they have what it takes to hand Tennessee their first loss.

Tennessee Wins

While I want Houston to win, because I think they are better than 3-5, I think that Baltimore is a really tough team, and Joe Flacco seems like the real deal.

Based on last week, this game got a lot harder to pick. Minnesota showed a lot of fire in their win, and GB showed a lot of heart in a near upset of the Titans. My opinion is that Green Bay, on the whole is a better team, but I like Minnesota’s chances at home this week.

Vikings Win

I hope that the Jets lose, but I don’t think that will be the case this week at home… especially coming off a big win over the Bills last week.

New York Wins

Indy wasn’t spectacular in their win over New England last week, so Pittsburgh should be able to take care of business at home this week.

Pittsburgh Wins

I keep thinking that this will be the upset of the week. I really think that this game is really winnable for Philadelphia, especially at home. I think the Giants are playing really well, and so are the Eagles.

Philly Wins

Buffalo was embarrassed by the Dolphins last week, but in front of a home crowd, I expect them to be opportunistic, and angry in a solid victory over the Jets.

This should be a really good game, and I expect that it will be close, and will likely hinge on a big play that gives one team a lead. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game was decided by 5 points or less.

St Louis has made HUGE strides the past few weeks, but I expect they will suffer another loss this week to the potent Cardinals offense.

Arizona Wins

The win here will but Jacksonville at .500 and keep them in the running for a Wild Card spot.

Still not buying the Denver hype. Yea, they can score a ton, but their defense is AWFUL!

Miami Wins

Atlanta played a really good game against the Eagles, and should come away with a win over former Falcon Deangelo Hall and his new team.

Week 9 has been a big week for Pats and Colts fans the past few years, and it should be a good game despite Tom Brady’s absence. That said, I think Cassel is growing and is doing well, and should be able to lead the Patriots to a win in Indy.

New England Wins

In my mind, this one has lopsided written all over it, but based on what has happened this season, anything can happen. I am leaning towards Flacco and the Ravens rather than Russell and the Raiders.

Baltimore Wins

I think that a lot of what happens in this game depends on whether or not Tony Romo plays or not, because Brad Johnson was terrible last week. Either way I think Tampa is really tough this year and should win this one to stay in first place in the NFC South.

Tampa Wins

A good divisional rivalry, that may be a bit uneven if Edwards plays like he did last week. If Buffalo goes up fast, look for “Wildcat” to make an appearance, in an attempt to catch the Bills sleeping.

Both teams have arrived safely in London for their game next week, but New Orleans arrived without RB star Reggie Bush, which could be the difference in this game.

Chargers Win

This one will probably be a really good game, and should be close. Both teams are almost evenly matched, but in key categories I have to give Philly the nod.

With a win this week the Texans will hopefully start to live up to the expectations that everyone (myself included) had for them at the beginning of the season.

Houston Wins

What a stinker for Sunday Night. With Nolan gone, will Singletary be able to coach the 49ers to victory? Well, this one is almost a given, but they will be tested in the weeks to come.
